Watkins Products and AmericanaIf you’ve ever had the good fortune of meeting a Watkins Associate, one thing I bet you noticed was how happy he or she appeared.  Happy to the point of jubilance, with a grand smile and joyous mood.  I can assure you that their attitude, mood and appearance was not fake or phony.  Because this a reflection of happiness, content and joy that is not taught to Watkins Associates, but instead is the reflection of a spirit and state of happiness that is felt deep from within.   More than likely its the look and feeling you’ve yearned for in your own life.  For its the inner peace that comes from enjoying what you’re doing in life and how you’re making a difference in the world.

It didn’t take me very long to share the same feeling after I became a Watkins Associate.  For what I’ve come to know is that Watkins Associates share a common bond, a bond of pride and satisfaction of knowing they represent a great company and great products.  Now on first blush that might sound like a corny statement to anyone outside Watkins, but consider the following facts about Watkins.

Watkins Incorporated is 140 years old.  Our great grandparents bought Watkins products, our grandparents bought Watkins products and our parents more than likely purchased Watkins.  The company still makes its original product –  red liniment and old time favorites like Petro-Carbo Salve.  When I first considered joining Watkins I asked myself the following question — “If a company is 140 years old, has 350 products and still sells products it was founded on, do I think they are doing something right? 

My answer was a resounding “Yes!”  Watkins sells what people need and use regularly.  It is so neat to get products like liniment, vanilla and Petro-Carbo salve with the same label artwork the company has used for generations.  There is a huge nostalgia play going on with Watkins Associates like me who have been using Watkins products all our lives.  Once I made the small investment of only $39 to become a Watkins Associate, I felt like I had just purchased an owner’s stake in Americana.
