Watkins in My Life
Yes, I’m an Independent Watkins Associate. My customers refer to me as the “Watkins Man,” or their “Watkins Man.” Others refer to me as a “Watkins Dealer.” But long before I began building a home-based Watkins business I used Watkins. In fact, I’ve used Watkins products since I was a toddler — over 55 years ago. That’s because I grew up in a “Watkins home.”
Several of my favorite Watkins products throughout the years remain some of the most popular Watkins products sold nationally. Namely, Watkins Red Liniment, Watkins White Liniment, Watkins Double-Strength Vanilla, Watkins Cinnamon, Watkins Black Pepper and Petro-Carbo Salve. These are all products used by my grandparents, my parents and by me for most of our lives.
However, now that I’m a Watkins Associate and have had the opportunity to use numerous Watkins products, I’m now a big fan and avid user of many other Watkins products. A short recap of what I’ve done today will reveal just how extensively I’ve “Watkinized” my home. When I woke up this morning I started the day brushing my teeth with Watkins toothpaste, shampooing my hair with Watkins Aloe and Tea Shampoo, using Watkins Aloe and Tea conditioner on my hair, completed showering, dressing, and enjoying a breakfast that consisting of Watkins White Chocolate Almond flavored Hot Cocoa, French Toast with Watkins Pure Cinnamon sprinkled on the toast and putting Watkins Vanilla Flavored Lip Balm on my lips to protect my lips on this cool and windy day.
As I walked out the door I noticed my wife was beginning to wash dishes using Watkins Liquid Dishwashing detergent and had already started washing a load of clothes using Watkins laundry detergent. When seated in my SUV and letting the engine warm up I marveled over how crystal clean and clear my windows looked. My daughter had cleaned them on Sunday using Watkins Window Cleaner.
The cold front that moved into our area yesterday prompted my wife to make a large pot of homemade chicken and vegetable soup for dinner yesterday. She had prepared a bowl for me to take to work today. The soup was fantastic and really hit the spot at lunch time. She used Watkins chicken soup stock for the base, and seasoned it with Watkins black pepper and Watkins sea salt.
I’ve never been able to put into words just how fresh, pure and wonderful Watkins black pepper taste when compared to other brands of black pepper. I know, you’re likely thinking “Once you’ve tasted one black pepper you’ve tasted them all.” I used to think the same, but that’s simply not true. Most brands of black pepper and cinnamon have a large percentage of inert and inexpensive fillers. Watkins black pepper and cinnamon are 100% pure with no fillers. Thus, their taste is fresh, pure and powerful. You’ll notice the difference immediately and be hooked on Watkins seasonings for life.
Upon returning home at the end of the day my daugther asked if I’d like to have a foot massage with Watkins Peppermint Foot Massage Lotion. One massage with this product and your feet will feel like their in foot heaven. My wife had barbequed chicken on the grill using Watkins Barbeque Sauce and my daughter mentioned she had tried Watkins Lemon Cream Shea Butter lotion and loved it. She said she went through the day smelling her hands occassionally because she loved the “Lemon Cream Pie” smell and freshness so much. My wife had cleaned house using a number of Watkins green cleaning products, including Watkins toilet bowl cleaner.
I’m certain that if I had asked more questions I would have found that my family members had used even more Watkins products throughout the day. As this account documents, we are a Watkins family from head to toe, room to room throughout our house. And with the healthy discount I get on all Watkins products I buy as a Watkins associate, I’m saving a lot of money every month by Watkinizing my home.
Watkins is not only a wonderful way to “Go Green” at your home, but its a fantastic way to make money. If you would like to know more about how you can start your own home-based Watkins business, please click here. If you would like to shop for Watkins products, click here.
Watkins Featured Recipe: Alfredo Pasta
If you don’t like Fettuccine Alfredo, you more than likely don’t like Italian food. I’m married to an Italian who is a wonderful cook but rarely cooks Italian fare. Thus, when I’m traveling on the road I try to eat Italian food every chance I get.
Fettuccine Alfredo is one of my favorite Italian meals. Hmmm, the sheer thought of any noodle with alfredo sauce on it makes my mouth water. If you’re a Watkin’s associate, I can’t think of a better meal to prepare at your next Good Tastings party event than this beautiful little dish that you can whip up in no time. You’ll have every Mom in the house reaching out for an order pad. Likewise, if you’re a Watkins products consumer wanting to prepare a meal that uses three popular Watkins products you likely have in your kitchen (i.e., Watkins Black Pepper, Watkins Grapeseed Oil and Watkins Garlic Liquid Spice), I promise you this is a recipe made in heaven just for you. If you don’t have these three great Watkins products, click on their names in the ingredient list below and order them online now.
- 2 boneless/skinless chicken breast1
- 1 lb/140 g pasta noodles (Fettucine is the best!)
- 1 cup cup/250 mL sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup/125 mL Kalamata olives
- 1/2 cup/125 mL red pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup/125 mL yellow pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup/60 mL green onion, chopped
- 2 tsp/10 mL all-purpose flour
- 1 can (12 oz/340 g) evaporated skim milk
- 1/2 cup/125 mL grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 to 1 tsp/4 to 5 mL Watkins Garlic Liquid Spice
- 1/4 tsp/2.5 mL Watkins Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp/7.5 mL Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
Directions
Sauté the two chicken breasts in Watkins brand grapeseed oil for 6 to 8 minutes over medium heat. Next add the yellow and red peppers, green onions and mushrooms. Continue cooking until you confirm the vegetables are tender. Next add the Kalamata olives. During this time be sure you are also cooking your favorite pasta according to the directions on the pasta package. We recommend you choose Fettuccine noodles the first time you’re trying this recipe.
When finished cooking the chicken and vegetables combination, remove them from the skillet and slice up the chicken. In the juices left in the skillet, brown the flour; stir in the Watkins garlic liquid spice and the evaporated milk. Cook, stirring occasionally until everything thickens. Next stir in the Parmesan cheese. Coat the cooked noodles good with the sauce and stir in the vegetables and slices of chicken. Lastly, sprinkle with Watkins brand black pepper.
Watkins Featured Recipe: Gingered Vegetables
The ingredients for this wonderful stir-fry recipe call for 4 different Watkins products. If you don’t have all 4 in your kitchen pantry you can order any or all of them online by clicking here to shop for Watkins products or clicking directly on each Watkins link in the list of ingredients below.
This is a quick and simple stir-fry recipe that produces a wonderful vegetable dish suitable for many main course dishes, not just Asian or Oriental dishes. For example, these vegetables would go great with a fish or chicken entree of your choosing, as well as some Cajun dishes.
Ingredients for this special Watkins recipe:
- 1 cup red bell pepper strips
- 1 cup coarsely chopped onion
- 1 cup diagonally sliced carrots
- 1 cup diagonally sliced celery
- 1 cup fresh broccoli florets
- 2 Tbsp./30 mL cornstarch
- 1-1/4 cup /325 mL water
- 1 cup fresh or frozen snow peas
- 1 Tbsp. Watkins Garlic & Parsley Grapeseed Oil
- 1-1/2 tsp. Watkins Garlic Granules
- 1-1/2 tsp. Watkins Ginger or Watkins Organic Ginger (either one)
- 2 tsp./10 mL Watkins Soup Base
Start by placing a large skillet or wok over high heat on your stovetop. Add Watkins-brand grapeseed oil and heat the wok or skillet until hot. Next add the carrots, celery, red pepper and onions. Stir-fry 3 minutes. When 3 minutes is up, add the broccoli, garlic granules, ginger and snow peas. Once added, follow by combining the water, cornstarch and soup base. Once combined, pour over the vegetables. Cook this mixture until it begins to boil and thicken, stirring often during the process. Reduce your burner heat to the “low” setting on your stovetop. Cover and simmer the wok or skillet just until the vegetables are crisp and tender. This should make about 6 servings.
